Where is Es Pujols and how to get there

You reach Formentera by ferry from Ibiza, arriving at the port of la Savina. From there, Es Pujols is just a few kilometres away: you can take the L1 bus (Port – Es Pujols), a taxi (there is a rank at the port) or a hire car, scooter or bike. On foot or by bike, the La Savina – Sant Francesc – Es Pujols green route is 5.6 km long.

When to visit Es Pujols

The best time is from May to October, when the night market and most of the restaurants and beach bars are open. In June and September the sea is pleasant and it’s less crowded than in July and August, the busiest months. In winter the village is much quieter.

Beaches in and around Es Pujols

Es Pujols is famous for its crystal-clear water and fine sand. Take time to relax on the village beach and head over to ses Illetes too, the best-known beach on the island: you can get there on the L7 bus (Es Pujols – Illetes) or walk the Es Pujols – ses Illetes green route (4.6 km).

• Stroll along the seafront at sunset: in season (May to October), a night market with more than 40 stalls sets up every evening, selling sandals, handmade jewellery, swimwear and summer fashion.
• Enjoy the nightlife: Es Pujols is quieter than other Mediterranean resorts, but it has bars and pubs in the streets behind the seafront and a small nightclub.
• Visit the Estany Pudent: this lagoon next to the village is perfect for walks, birdwatching and photos at sunrise or sunset. Note: swimming and diving in the Estany Pudent are not allowed.
• Hire a bike or a scooter: Formentera is small and almost flat, and getting around on two wheels is the best way to discover hidden corners at your own pace.
• Get out on a boat: a boat trip or a hire boat lets you snorkel in crystal-clear water and see the island from the sea. Always anchor on sand, never on posidonia seagrass.
• Respect the environment: Formentera has a fragile ecosystem. Don’t leave any rubbish on the beach or in the sea.
